General Summary
Oversees the activities of the hospitals central supply personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and nonsterile supplies and equipment.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Oversees sterilization assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
- Establishes and oversees methods for preparing handling and storing sterile equipment and materials.
- Directs the requisitioning sorting labeling and issuing of professional equipment.
Common Expectations:
- Recommends staffing levels selects and assigns staff evaluates performance evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable) provides orientation training and continuing education of staff and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Develops and recommends department/entity operating budget and ensures that department/entity operates within budget.
- Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipments.
- Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity with other departments/service lines/entities and with the Systems primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).
- Develops establishes and implements goals objectives and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entitys services.
- Establishes and maintains department/entity safety environmental and/or infection control standards.
- Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/Systems performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management as required.
- Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions to ensure that adequate supply levels are kept on hand.

- Associates Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 2 years Relevant experience Required and
- Supervisory experience Required
Licenses:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Preferred
