Your goal as Senior Researcher on Ion Exchange is to lead the technical assessments and decision for pilot studies of suspended ion exchange (SIX) processes in drinking water production. This fulltime role is part of our Technology Applications & Piloting Department based in Amsterdam. You will report to the Pilot Team Lead and be a critical member of the team supporting our global pilot projects.
What willyou be doing
Pilot Study Planning & : Develop detailed pilot testing plans based on raw water characteristics and project requirements. Design and optimize experimental conditions for ion exchange trials. Coordinate with the pilot team to ensure smooth of pilot studies.
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze and interpret data from pilot trials under varying test conditions. Identify key performance indicators and trends in ion exchange system efficiency. Provide datadriven recommendations to refine the study approach.
Technical Leadership & DecisionMaking: Lead scientific decisions regarding pilot plant operations act as a technical expert in ion exchange and water treatment chemistry. Support the transition from pilotscale proof of concept to fullscale system design. Support the development of a companywide long term strategy for SIX.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare progress reports and final reports summarizing findings and recommendations. Document key insights and lessons learned for future projects.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams (R&D engineering Business Development) to integrate findings assist in the evaluation or troubleshooting of fullscale plant performance. Engage with clients stakeholders and project partners to communicate technical results.
Mentoring & Team Development: Lead knowledge sharing initiatives such as contributing to the development of the SIX Community of Practice and support the development of junior and medior colleagues in IX.

What were looking for
PhD in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering Chemistry Process Engineering or Masters degree in a relevant field plus sufficient work experience.
At least 7 years of experience in ion exchange in the water sector (drinking water wastewater or industrial water treatment) pilot plants water treatment process optimization or related experience.
Strong knowledge of ion exchange processes resin and performance and water chemistry. Expertise in water quality analysis and interpretation and datadriven decisionmaking.
Experience working with customers regulators and internal teams to customize ion exchange solutions.
Mentorship and team leadership skills.
Willingness to travel (two or three times for a week per year).
