Job description

As a Manager of Performance Engineering you will be a key member of the Product Quality Engineering team leading a team of leaders architects and engineers driving the performance working within our agile software development process. You will work within our agile software development process to  and have an important impact on the products we built. 

The ideal candidate for this position is a someone with a strong background in performance testing /engineering involving enterprise software platform and applications. The candidate must have experience in leading/driving complex performance engineering projects that measure the characteristics of complex systems running under dynamic realworld loads. You will work in a fastpaced innovative environment that allows direct influence on the organization and our most important customers.

What you get to do in this role: 

  • Lead a team of architects engineers managers driving the performance engineering efforts within our agile software development process involved in validating performance scalability and reliability of ServiceNow platform/applications.

 

  • Benchmark key business flows against production scale infrastructures data volume and concurrency to simulate large customers

 

  • Responsible for release readiness/certification of ServiceNow platform and products with regards to performance.

 

  • Collaborate with architects developers and leaders from engineering product management and customer facing teams to resolve complex performance/scale issues with products or  mitigation of customers performance escalations.

 

  • Create infrastructure automation and tools that drive realistic loads against the core services of our platform

 

  • Provide assessments of performance and scale for products/solutions to the leadership with deepdive analysis trends over time and relevant KPIs that could drive key decisions

 

  • Facilitate capacity planning sizing demand forecasting software performance analysis and system tuning

 

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to performance engineers developers product managers on performance engineering process frameworks and best practices. Drive process improvements enable knowledge sharing crosscollaboration standardization and innovation

 

  • Stay uptodate with latest developments in the industry on performance engineering practices and apply them in performance initiatives at ServiceNow. Learn quickly when facing new situations apply new concepts and principles to address problems

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you have:

  1. BS / MS / PhD. in computer science (or equivalent) with around 10 years of experience 3 years in leadership role in performance engineering.

 

  1. Strong skills in industry standard performance test frameworks such as JMeter/Load Runner  

 

  1. Knowledge / Experience with performance monitoring and reporting frameworks such as Splunk Grafana InfluxDB Prometheus ELK/Kibana

 

  1. Strong problemsolving and analytical skills brings clarity to ambiguous situations facilitates and arbitrates technical discussions and has the ability to make challenging calls or recommendations

 

  1. Strong and unwavering commitment to making customers successful relentless focus on delivering results through innovation and proactive action

 

  1. Strong communication skills and ability to work with professionalism integrity passion and accountability in a globally distributed hybrid work environment

 

  1. Solid understanding and experience with agile software development methodologies
