Summary

Morgan & Morgan is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its quickly growing practice of plaintiffs personal injury lawyers and supporting case staff in our offices in Columbia SC.

The Personal Injury Attorney will handle a heavy and complex case load from prelitigation litigation trial prep and trial. Cases may include representing plaintiffs in motor vehicle and other cases in and around Columbia.

Our law firms generous and competitive compensation includes a base salary guaranteed commission and competitive ongoing commission fees / bonuses (uncapped) as well as a full benefits package. Additionally each litigator will have a large case staff assisting them including a dedicated paralegal and a dedicated legal assistant.

Responsibilities

• Daytoday handling of both prelitigation and litigation cases
• Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings discovery requests discovery responses demands motions and memoranda of law
• Guide plaintiff clients through the case process
• Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences drafting of expert reports and affidavits
• Attendance and preparation for depositions mediations hearings and court appearances

Qualifications

• Law degree (J.D. / JD / Juris Doctor) from a fully accredited law school
• An active member in good standing with the State Bar Association (SC required)
• Minimum 2 years of personal injury / premises liability experience
• Ability to manage high volume of prelit and litigation cases
• Excellent client service and communication skills
• Selfstarter driven by longterm career goals
• Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
