Job Description

Currently Technica is seeking 2 motivated individuals to join our growing team as an Underground Equipment Trainer. The role of the is work closely with line management JHSC representatives site trainers coordinators and the client to ensure safety and training needs are being met. The key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Conduct training and development for employees while ensuring all persons working on site are duly competent appointed and skilled to complete their job
  • Educate participants on hazard identification risk assessment and proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Train and evaluate competency of equipment operators
  • Assist with the Health & Safety Department to conduct training on emergency response procedures including evacuation protocols and first aid to ensure personnel are prepared for potential workplace emergencies
  • Provide specialized training on safe operation and maintenance of mining equipment and machinery
  • Conducting workplace risk assessments
  • Assist in maintaining the training matrix
  • Ensure all employees working on site are properly trained on equipment being used
  • Ensure employee training and legislative requirements are met.
  • Identify training needs or gaps to develop and revise training and assessment resources
  • Complete training logs and training signoff while ensuring proper record keeping.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety through work habits and behaviours

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Boltec (with RCS5 and/or RCS4 AND Epiroc M2C L2C Jumbos is required
  • Proficient knowledge of industry legislation (OHSA and supporting regulations ESA MTCU Core Modular Training Programs)
  • Train the Trainer (TTT) designation is considered as asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to stay organized prioritize and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Must be open to working at any of the underground mine sites in Sudbury that Technica operates at

Location: Onaping Ontario (Onaping Depth Project)

Rotation: 554

Shift Length: 11.5 hours
