Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine to work on an NIH grant focused on HIV1associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). The Post Doc will independently conduct in vivo experiments to determine the effects of HIVfree EVs on mitochondrial and BBB dysfunction in brain microvasculature of NSG mice. The applicant should be interested in our research involving HIV1 extracellular vesicles and neuropathogenesis.
We are searching for an applicant with proven expertise in rodent surgical techniques including surgeries handling and monitoring of rodents and experience in various approaches including immunofluorescence western blotting ELISA and RTqPCR. The PostDoctoral Fellow should be familiar with in vivo experiments.
The Post Doc will work as a part of a team including faculty laboratory personnel: technicians and students. The PostDoctoral Fellow should be able to collect and analyze data compose manuscripts for publication write and submit grants supervise and train students in lab techniques and experiments assist with teaching Medical Pharmacology Problem Based Learning and help with lab maintenance and ordering of supplies.
Preference will be given to individuals with experience in virology and molecular biology and familiarity with in vivo experiments will be preferred.
