Primary Purpose Of Position
The School of Nursing within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is focused on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary purpose of this role is to provide studentcentered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduatelevel courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising student mentoring and recruitment curriculum development and engagement in program assessment accreditationrelated procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) establish and sustain a strong externallyfunded research program in their field of expertise; (ii) produce an excellent record of scholarly publications; (iii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses; (iv) supervise and support DNP student projects; and (vi provide service to the SON the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 9month tenuretrack position.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a Ph.D. in nursing or DNP with a significant research track record. Ability to establish and sustain a strong research enterprise and have pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to nursing leadership
Preferred Years Experience Skills Training Education
Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursings educational requirement is required. Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for mental health. Teaching experiences in advanced pathophysiology. Nurse Educator Certification.
