Job Description
Are you a creative CAD designer with expertise in advanced surfacing design Do you aspire to work for a company that constantly pushes the boundaries of innovative design If so Trek Bicycle is the perfect place for you! We are seeking a talented Onshape CAD Designer to join our team and contribute to the development of the next generation of bicycles.
In this role you will be responsible for creating designs using Onshape requiring you to think outside the box and devise innovative solutions to complex problems. If you have a positive attitude and a passion for design we encourage you to explore the job description below.
As part of this role you will support Engineering Industrial Design and Manufacturing by providing 3D CAD models using both Solid and Advanced Surface Modeling techniques. We are looking for someone who can adhere to Treks Product Development Process (PDP) while developing implementing and applying tools that facilitate leadtime reductions in our process.
Responsibilities:
- Create refine rebuild and leadthe development of organicshaped 3D CAD models with advanced surfacing techniques for bicycling products. Models may originate from hand sketches verbal instructions or modifications of existing 3D solid/surface models.
- Produce highly detailed CAD documentationusing Onshape for both internal and external review.
- Support the design and development needsof Engineering and Industrial Design teams.
- Utilize internal systemssuch as CAD PDM and other computer applications effectively.
- Balance multiple projects responsibilities and tasksefficiently with a strong focus on meeting customer deadlines.
Position Requirements:
- Degreein Mechanical Design Industrial Design or a related field with a focus on Advanced 3D CAD Surface modeling.
- Experiencewith Onshape software including complex solid and surface modeling skills.
- Highlevel proficiencyin Advanced 3D CAD Surfacing; consumercentered design.
- Ability to translate design intentinto a 3D CAD model.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsto interact effectively with both domestic and international teammates and proactively initiate communications.
- Demeanor that fosters continuous improvement and flexibility.
- Proficient planning and organization skills with a strong sense of initiative accountability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer applicationssuch as spreadsheets presentations and word processing.
- Additional toolsthat would be advantageous: Rhino Grasshopper Keyshot VR/AR tools Illustrator and other rendering packages.
