Power System Protection Engineer

SEL is seeking an individual to support power systems protection application support.

As a Power System Protection Engineer you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and solutions for power system protection schemes.

This application engineer needs to have a drive to learn and customer focus. This individual will have a wide range of autonomy and flexibility in order to best provide quality solutions and worldclass customer service to our national customers. Youll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

Responsibilities

A typical day might include the following:

• Develop working knowledge of power system protection and all related SEL products.

• Help customers apply SEL products through visits demonstrations training courses and telephone contact.

• Contribute to product specifications application and testing software and literature.

• Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.

• Teach in customer onsite and online visits SEL University courses and handson seminars for customers and SEL personnel.

• Maintain customer application and quality information and develop industry relationships.

• Continuously identify measure follow and improve marketing sales and engineering quality procedures.

• Continuously identify measure and improve processes.

  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This job might be for you if:

• You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering equivalent degree or equivalent work experience.

• You have competent technical training speaking and writing skills.

• You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

• You have the ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.

• You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

• You have the ability to travel.

You will interact with a diverse range of customers solving technical problems and teaching the best solutions through various channels.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power systems
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with power system protection and relays.

Irvine CA $88000 $165000

San Ramon $90000 $172000

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with differing experience. Our salary ranges are determined by job responsibility and location. The salary range may differ in other locations based on cost of labor. We base our starting pay offer on location and jobrelated factors such as candidate experience training knowledge and skills.
