POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated Computational Biology Intern to support efforts in genomic data analysis. This internship will provide handson experience working with sequencing data transcriptomics and bioinformatics tools to investigate key genomic features relevant to our scientific initiatives. The intern will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to contribute to computational workflows and datadriven discoveries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and analyze sequencing data (e.g. RNAseq wholegenome sequencing etc. to extract biologically relevant insights
Apply computational methods to investigate and characterize genomic features
Utilize bioinformatics tools and public databases for data processing and interpretation
Collaborate with scientists and bioinformaticians to refine computational approaches
Present findings in team meetings and contribute to internal research reports
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a Masters program in Computational Biology Bioinformatics Genetics or a related field
Understanding of nextgeneration sequencing (NGS) technologies particularly RNAseq
Experience with bioinformatics tools and computational data analysis
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python R and/or Bash
Familiar with Linux environments for installing running and developing bioinformatic tools
Excellent problemsolving communication and teamwork skills
