- Base salary range: Level C $139000 $159893 p.a. plus 17 superannuation.
About the area
Academic members of the discipline of Microbiology and Immunology are responsible for the Major in Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) and the Masters of Infectious disease (MID). MMI is comprised of 6 units with a cohort of 200 students. The MID is a coursework degree of 16 units and has a cohort of 3035 students per annum. Academic teaching staff are also asked to provide support teaching into a variety of professional programs including Medicine Dentistry Podiatry Ophthalmology and Pharmacy.
About the opportunity
- Contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs in microbiology and immunology
- Provide high quality supervision ofHonours Masters and PhDstudents
- Establish fund and maintain a sustainable research program within the research domain of infection disease in the School of Biomedical Sciences
About you
- PhD in an academic field relevant to Microbiology or Immunology or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline
- Strong track record in research as evidenced by scholarly publications in peer reviewed journals and funding success relative to opportunity;
- Demonstrable ability to deliver and assess effective and innovative teaching to undergraduate students relative to opportunity;
- Experience in the supervision or cosupervision of Honours and HDR students;
Evidence of successful competitive funding applications
