Role Overview:

The Acquisition Management Supervisor will play a key role in standing up and managing an innovative Acquisition Apprentice Program and shared service center aimed at attracting and developing exceptional talent for the Agency and other federal agencies. Reporting directly to the VP of the HR Shared Service Center/Training this position will oversee the establishment and operation of the center ensuring it meets the needs of the agencys clients. The Acquisition Management Supervisor will work closely with senior officials from both the Agency and the YRCI to effectively manage this important program. This role will be instrumental in recruiting top talent including veterans transitioning military personnel and highly skilled acquisition professionals while also overseeing the development and of specialized training and mentorship opportunities.

The Role

  • The duty location is in Reston Virginia or Herndon Virginia full time on site.
  • Serve as Point of Contact (POC) with agency management; prepare for and attend regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Serve as a POC for staff and clients to resolve escalated issues; direct motivate and guide team members toward mission and goal accomplishments.
  • Use knowledge and experience to support the Quality Control (QC) process; review work of others provide constructive corrections and recommendations for improvement through onthejob training for less experienced staff; daytoday problem and issue resolution including QC.
  • Ensure data integrity of workflow tracking required manage workload and to pull reports.
  • Manage team and schedules to ensure workload coverage; write and conduct performance appraisals; handle performance and discipline issues.
  • Manage timekeeping and approve Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Launch a 612month pilot program in Spring/Summer 2025 recruiting 1520 candidates for specialized acquisition training and onthejob learning while they await security clearance.
  • Onboard candidates for unclassified work before clearance completion ensuring seamless integration into federal careers through targeted training and career preparation.
  • Establish a preemployment program that aligns candidates with local pay enhances technical and soft skills and fosters agency culture.
  • Target top talent including former military and civilian GS1102s with active or recently expired security clearances as well as TS/SCI cleared contract specialists in the private sector.
  • Recruit through multiple channels including military transition programs veteran organizations and universities like Geroge Mason University (GMU) while leveraging social media and professional networks to engage former 1102s.
  • Organize regional recruitment fairs and informational sessions at military installations and veteranfocused events in Huntsville AL; Denver CO; Sierra Vista AZ; and Honolulu HI.
  • Create mentorship programs for transitioning personnel in collaboration with veteran organizations.
  • Support agency hiring efforts by providing SME assistance for panel interviews job fairs SOP development and recruitment strategies.



Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Achieved at least a GS15 level equivalent or higher including minimum 10 years of supervisory and managerial experience.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Federal Acquisitions.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to critically think and be an independent problem solver.
  • Must be able to package and present complex information in an understandable fashion to senior level officials.
  • Must be a Leader and demonstrate strong leadership skills and demonstrate a strong sense of ethics.
  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
