About IPSD
Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Caterpillars company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary
As a Machine Operator I you will perform key duties associated with the machining of engine blocks and cylinder heads for Caterpillar Diesel Engines. Reporting to Section Managers you will be part of a dynamic operations team dedicated to highquality production.
What you will do:
Operate machining equipment to produce highquality parts free of defects
Maintain records related to inventory quality defective parts and equipment
Maintain a safe and clean workstation
Meet or exceed production standards as set by the company
Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions.
Communicate with supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals
What you will have:
A minimum of 2 months of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
Experience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Comfort working in crossfunctional teams and contributing to problemsolving
What would make you a top candidate:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Certification in 2 or more relevant technical stations (or willingness to obtain)
Familiarity with Caterpillars safety standards and continuous improvement programs
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:
$18.55/hour starting base pay
2nd Shift: Monday Friday 2:00pm 10:30pm
Employees working 2nd or 3rd shift are eligible for a 7 shift premium in addition to their base pay
