Job Description
As part of the public education system in Nova Scotia the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE)was established on April 1 2018 to deliver the public school program focusing on supporting student learning achievement wellbeing and overall success. The Strait Regional Centre for Education with the support of approximately 1000 employees works diligently to achieve its mission to empower our children and youth within safe equitable and inclusive environments to embrace a changing world as responsible contributing and successful lifelong learners. Inthe SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5954 students; and approximately 345 children are attending preprimary programs at 14 school locations. Located in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia the Strait Regional Centre for Educations jurisdiction encompasses the counties of Antigonish Guysborough Inverness and Richmond an area of approximately 11000 square kilometres with a population of 53742 (Census 2021.
Effective Dates: 09/01/2024 to06/30/2025
Assignment:
Substitute on call basis for Strait Regional Centre for Education Schools throughout the region upon completion of receiving a permit to teach. (SRCEwill be in contact with you to complete the paperwork for a permit once a decision has been made on your application.
Required Qualifications& Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Math Science orFrench.(Priority) However will consider Bachelor in English Business Arts or related field.
- Meet provincial requirements for a Permit to Teach.
- Experience working with children.
- Satisfactory completion of the Child Abuse Register check.
- Satisfactory completion of the Criminal Records / Vulnerable Sector Checks.
