Description:
Join ICES on a contract impacting national security as a Sr. Network Engineer.
A Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and maintaining network infrastructure. They ensure the networks performance security and reliability by managing hardware software and configuration settings. The Sr. Network Engineer troubleshoots complex network issues optimizes network performance and supports networkrelated projects.
These positions are located inAlexandria VA.All positions require an active/currentTS/SCI securityclearanceand be willing and able to pass an additionalpolygraphas needed.
As a Sr. Network Engineer specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Duties:
- High level of familiarity with networking technologies and capable of troubleshooting all levels of network connectivity issues including but not limited to network outages switch failures network performance network interface card (NIC) cabling TCP/IP configuration etc.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies including but not limited to routers.
- respond to trouble tickets from the Help Desk automated trouble ticketing system; perform networkrelated hardware and software System Administration functions best suited for after hours including patches upgrades service packs hotfixes etc. to ensure system availability reliability and serviceability.
- Familiarity with Domain Name Services (DNS) and other networking technologies.
- Shall be named to fill each shift during a 24x7x365 work week at the DCF and WCF locations.
Required:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Expertise in designing and implementing complex network solutions.
- Strong problemsolving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
- Proficiency in network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP BGP OSPF).
- Experience with network hardware (e.g. routers switches firewalls) and software.
- Skills in optimizing network performance and reliability.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed network documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to manage networkrelated projects and coordinate with crossfunctional teams.
- Familiarity with cloud networking virtualization and network automation tools.
- 4 years of experience working with TCP/IP networking environment.
