This position will manage all aspects of the Business Department while maintaining a teaching load. Responsibilities include providing leadership and management of the department including initiatives such as Dual Credit and Youth Apprenticeship programs and managing department courses and faculty at all campuses and remote sites. The Department Heads responsibilities also include the following:
This position requires a masters degree in economics business administration (MBA) management or a closely related field; or a masters degree plus eighteen 18 hours graduate credit hours in economics business or management and three 3 years of progressively responsible related work experience. Preferred candidate will have supervisory and teaching experience. Faculty positions are unclassified and salary is commensurate with education and experience.
The successful candidate needs a clear understanding of overall college policies and procedures particularly those related to curriculum design and revision course scheduling registration and student advisement. Previous teaching experience is essential. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Experience with curriculum assessment and student learning outcomes is vital. The successful candidate should also have experience with SACSCOC and/or ACBSP accreditation. Also required are excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with diverse populations in the community and the college. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate must thoroughly know Ellucian D2L Outlook Excel and Word. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Active participation on college committees and teams or professional organizations is a plus.
