Job Description
The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic liberal arts university located in Leavenworth Kansas just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. USM serves about 1400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth its satellite location in Overland Park as well as online.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assignments may include morning afternoon evening or online classes depending on instructional needs. This is a POOL position. Application materials for adjunct positions are accepted on an ongoing basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Experience with online instructor of the Spanish language.
- Prepare syllabi and deliver curriculum appropriate for the course assigned
- Maintain effective and timely student assessment and feedback
- Manage and foster an inclusive educational environment to serve all learners
- Maintain student attendance records in accordance with university policy
- Submit midterm and final grades on time
- Demonstrate professionalism with students faculty staff and administration
- Timely attendance at all required training Division meetings and universityrelated meetings
- Complete all required training including training on Engage LMS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree or above in Spanish Language and Culture
- 25 years of experience teaching Spanish in higher education onground and online
- 25 years of experience teaching cultures of the Spanishspeaking world.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Candidates should have an affinity to the mission of the university.
PREFERRED:
- Experience developing Spanish classes for Business Healthcare and/or Helping Professional at the Entry Level
- Experience with administering Placement Exams.
