Traineeship Reception & Administration Assistant (Aboriginal vacancy)

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Established in 1994 Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal Corporation is a notforprofit organisation who provides essential and community services to remote Aboriginal communities across the PilbaraGascoyne and MidWestregions of Western Australia. They also manage accommodation at Mirnutharntu Maya (meaning accommodation to support learning) located in South Hedland which is a 48 bedroomed facility designed for individuals to reside while undertaking training and education.

ABOUT THE TRAINEESHIP

Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a fulltime trainee for their Port Hedland office. As a trainee youll be enrolled to complete a qualification in Business Administration supported by the employer and a nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

General duties may include but not limited to:

  • Greet welcome and signin all visitors at reception
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person
  • Answer screen and forward inbound calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable with all necessary stationery and materials available (brochures pens forms)
  • Daily restock of paper for printers and photocopiers
  • Assist staff with photocopying binding scanning and printing requirements
  • Prepare boardrooms for meetings and maintain general tidiness
  • Collect open scan and record incoming mail
  • Complete banking runs when required
  • Escort employees to and from the airport when required

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Proven time management skills
  • Able to demonstrate initiative
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite experience (desirable)
  • Experience working in nonprofit sector (desirable)
  • Experience working for an Aboriginal Corporation (desirable)
  • Drivers license (essential)
