Are you a lifeguard or aquatics professional looking to take your skills to the next level The City of Coppell is looking for an Aquatics Technician to join our team at The CORE! This handson role is perfect for someone ready to expand their expertise in pool operations water chemistry and facility maintenance.
In this role youll serve on the team responsible for keeping our aquatic systems running smoothly from maintaining pool filtration and chemical levels to troubleshooting pumps motors and UV systems. Youll work closely with staff to ensure a safe clean and highquality aquatic environment for our community. Schedule CommitmentWorks a standard 40hour work week with the ability to work 4 10hour shifts WednesdaySaturday.

This opportunity is nonexempt and on Pay Grade #10.The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade.
Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

Eligibility
Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience with the operation of small hand and power tools
- Possession of CPO or AFO or the ability to obtain within 6 months posthire
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) by the National Swimming Pool Foundation
- Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)
- Valid State of Texas Drivers License with a good driving record
- Aquatics related maintenance experience such as pump repairs and chemical monitoring is preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge- Knowledge of automated pool systems such as UV and chemical controllers.
- Knowledge of the operation of a personal computer calculator photocopier facsimile machine telephone public address system lamination machines and other basic office equipment.
- Knowledge of small hand tools used for minor repairs or adjustments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to write reports and general business correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret pool chemistry test kits.
- Ability to operate a computerized pool filtration and chemistry system.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to resolve conflict diplomatically while being flexible and creative in problemsolving.
