Heres how a(n)Senior Manager Integrated Construction Technologyfor our Edmonton NAHQoffice contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Ensures that virtual models from plans specifications and elevations are built and reviewed.
- Leads department and/or companywide process improvement activities.
- Liaises with estimating to establish and manage staffing resources and budgets for new pursuits and projects.
- Participates in project interviews and proposal writing in respect to virtual design construction (VDC) and other integrated technologies.
- Leads the development of standards and best practices associated with the setup of digital workflows.
- During the pursuit stage works with the project team to review and recommend scopes that VDC tools and processes can be incorporated into the project and allocates VDC resources accordingly.
- Participates in the pursuit and proposal of a project including the narrative and presentation material development.
- Establishes VDC and ICT contract language and/or ensures it is incorporated into the design or subcontract agreement.
- Initiates the setup of managing the trade partner modelcoordination process and allocates VDC resources as required.
- Establishes multidiscipline construction models and project modeling standards.
- Leads new project technology kickoff meetings and works with the project team to execute the technology strategy for district projects.
- Promotes and influences the use of virtual construction tools and processes at the project and district levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree diploma or 2year certificate in a buildingsindustry related discipline (e.g. architecture engineering and construction (AEC) civil architectural).
- 15 years of constructionrelated industry experience including 6 years of Virtual Design and Constructionrelated experience.
- Expert understanding of construction sequences.
- Expert understanding of and proven experience implementing construction technology.
- Ability to develop organizational model management procedures.
- Expert knowledge of the building construction process and the various building components involved at each stage of construction.
- Expert ability to oversee and ensure the quality of building information models from design and trade partners.
- Advanced understanding of trade detailing and design workflows.
- Advanced understanding and training in 3D modeling software.
- Experience with 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
- Ability to write a Building Information Model (BIM) plan.
- Experience translating project schedule and scope to create a VDC schedule.
- Advanced understanding of contract language and how it affects project risk with respect to BIM and construction technology.
