Job Description/Responsibilities

Join the Sazerac Company Archives team as an Archives Assistant as a Student and gain handson experience in historical preservation artifact documentation and exhibition planning. This internship offers an immersive opportunity to work with a dedicated team while contributing to meaningful projects that uphold the legacy and heritage of Sazerac.

This is a parttime independent Archives Assistant role where youll have the opportunity to work autonomously. In this position you are more than just a studentyoull play a key role in preserving and organizing valuable archival materials.

This role offers a unique opportunity for students to merge historical research with brand storytelling while working in a dynamic and engaging environment. If youre eager to explore the world of archives and historical preservation we encourage you to apply!

Location: Frankfort KY (this is not a remote opportunity)

Hours: 15 hours/ week

Starting date: Now (this is not summer only)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Archives staff in cataloging artifacts and documents using the PastPerfect5 system.

  • Collaborate with various departments to inventory objects throughout the distillery ensuring accurate documentation.

  • Support the planning and of exhibitions bringing historical narratives to life for visitors and team members.

  • Conduct historical research helping to deepen the understanding of Sazeracs legacy and its impact over time.

  • Provide support to the Archives Assistant and Archivist in daytoday operations and special projects.

  • Conduct work in a professional and timely way.

  • Contribute to projects that promote brand and Homeplace development reinforcing the connection between history and brand identity.

Learning & Development:

The Archives Internship is designed to be a valuable educational experience for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Share input and feedback on projects ensuring a mutually beneficial learning experience.

  • Develop expertise in archival systems research methodologies and exhibition curation.

  • Gain realworld exposure to working in a corporate archives setting while building transferable skills for careers in history museum studies library sciences or related fields.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Currently Enrolled in a bachelors or masters degree and enrolled while working as an Intern Archivist
  • Deeply enthusiastic about preserving history exploring artifacts curating documentation and engaging with historical narratives
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Experience in a fastpaced environment

PREFERRED

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word Excel and Outlook)
  • Skilled in photography and video editing
  • Proficient w/ Adobe Creative Suite
  • Brand management experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
