Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Revenue Agent 3 position. We are looking for talented detailoriented individuals to join our Personal Tax and Compliance Division in the Tax Collections Unit 10. This position is headquartered in our Bend field office; however the successful candidate may be eligible for in state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.
Your first day will be in the Salem office for onboarding and training.
In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.
What You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
Performs advanced collection actions using established policy and procedures. These actions could include till taps license suspensions contract suspensions seizure of assets and any other agency approved action. Ensure security of money collected in the field.
Conduct unannounced inspections in response to complaints against companies alleging failure to withhold taxes from employees earnings.
Conduct field investigations. Locate debtors by visiting their current and former place of residence current and former place of employment and current and former place of business.

This Is What You Need To Qualify
two years experience of direct collections of past due accounts which included at least one year of field collections experience.
Collection experience must have been your primary responsibility not incidental to other major duties and have included:
tracing and contacting debtors and conducting field investigations;
authority to initiate liens garnishments wage assignments etc.;
examination of business management and accounting records;
determining liability and delinquency charges;
collecting by telephone letter or personal contact; and
negotiating payment plans and partial settlements.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Some positions in this class may require the possession of an Oregon drivers license valid for the class of vehicles used by the employing agencies.

The salary listed is the nonPERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95.
