Description
SUMMARY
SHIELD is a Kansas City based manufacturer who designs and builds products for the worlds best sports and healthcare brands. Our lockers are chosen by the top NBA NFL NCAA teams and our innovative healthcare products help the best doctors and nurses serve their patients in modern clean environments at many of the most nationally recognized health care facilities in the United States.
Reporting to the Production Manager this role is an onsite fulltime hourly position with availability for overtime and Saturdays when necessary. The Shipping Receiving Coordinator must be a strong team player with a positive attitude willing to take direction as well as be a selfstarter and enjoys working in a creative problem solving and fastpaced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:
- Receive and store sheet goods.
- Coordinate with CNC supervisor to ensure continuous organization of sheet good storage with the goal of inventory accuracy
- Delivery and tracking of sheet goods issued to CNC as needed
- Organize Finished Goods area by job and shipment
- Wrap and label Finished Goods and project related items prior to shipment
- Stage loads a day ahead of time to ensure shipment accuracy
- Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure shipping Manifest is updated and correct prior to shipment
- Coordinate with production control on local deliveries and subassembly pick ups
- Work with other team members and Shield leadership to identify and resolve shipping and receiving issues in real time
- Maintain a positive attitude and help the team find solutions even when faced with stressful situations and challenging people
- Submit time sheets PTO requests and all other necessary forms and communication on time and accurately
- Works safely in a fabrication shop environment and handles material appropriately
- Fulfill other shop related duties assigned as needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to safely operate forklift
- Ability to get appropriately licensed to drive 26 truck with airbrakes
- Gain knowledge of packing procedures at Shield
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving paperwork
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to use various measuring tools
- Knowledge of material identification and functions of those materials
- Ability to comprehend and retain information executing as directed
- Can work independently but knows when to stop and ask questions
- Ability to successfully execute projects on tight deadlines and to perform at high levels in a fast paced and everchanging work environment
- Reliable with attendance ontime for daily shift consistent high quality of daily work and tasks and communication both verbal and written
- Ability to stand walk bend kneel stoop and crouch all day and frequently lift or move heavy objects
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 3 years experience in shipping / receiving atmosphere preferred
- Casework furniture or cabinet building experience preferred

- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Employee must be able to talk and hear
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Due to our onsite Fabrication process the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job employees may be exposed to hot and/or cold conditions moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. Adherence to company safety policies are mandatory.
