You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Boise State University Department of Construction Management (CM) seeks to hire a fulltime 9month tenure track Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025. The successful candidate will bring innovative scholarship construction management industry expertise and technologies to our growing program and contribute to our programs renowned success. The CM department enjoys an outstanding reputation within the industry and receives strong industry support through an active industry advisory council. This faculty position includes teaching facetoface undergraduate courses conducting research and publishing in areas related to construction management and contributing to the departments service and outreach activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The department is committed to offering a highquality educational experience for students in an academic setting. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses in the following areas: construction surveying scheduling MEP systems soils & construction equipment BIM/VDC and/or statics and mechanics of materials. The normal teaching load for this position is 67 credit hours per semester (typically 2 courses) depending on department needs. The successful candidate will have some experience in the US construction industry and be able to bring that experience to the classroom as well as engage in continuing education to remain uptodate in the profession. The use of mobile devices and other technologies in the classroom is also expected.
The candidate will be expected to develop a productive research program related to construction management including grant writing securing external funding publishing in peerreviewed journals and presenting at academic conferences. While we aspire to have one there is currently no graduate program in the CM department so the successful candidate will be expected to engage undergraduate students in research projects and seek collaboration with graduate students from other related departments for research and mentoring opportunities.
In addition to teaching and scholarship the candidate will be expected to participate in departmental discussions and decisions related to content learning outcomes and pedagogy in the program. The candidate will be expected to mentor students and participate in service activities such as working with student organizations clubs and competition teams. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the department college and university through service on committees and participation in professional organizations. The successful candidate will demonstrate a teamplayer attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in construction management construction engineering civil engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment.
USbased industry experience related to construction and/or design.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in construction management.
Evidence of or potential to generate scholarly publications in construction management or a closely related discipline.
Strong potential for developing a successful research program including securing external funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
5 years of US construction industry experience.
A strong record of research as evidenced by multiple publications in peerreviewed journals.
Experience in grant writing and securing external grant funding.
Professional certifications or licenses related to the construction industry.
Experience in construction managementrelated computer and/or mobile applications.
Active membership in constructionrelated associations or organizations.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Our standard faculty contract is a 9month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly renewable contract unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.
