Job Description
Position Overview
The Irrigation Technician is a production role in the field of Irrigation Maintenance. The employee spends most of the time in the field working with another technician or by themselves. The employee in this role will primarily focus on troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems.

DaytoDay Stuff
- Performs general troubleshooting and repairs on Irrigation systems.
- Daily paperwork completed and turned in properly.
- Daily job material management and tracking.
- Job production and quality control according to route schedule and company standards.
- Effectively communicate with the public manager crew leader and site workers.
- Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards. Perform justintime light maintenance on equipment as needed in the field.
- Exposure to physical elements including heat and cold and other potential hazardous materials with the use of personal protective equipment according to procedures.
- Accurately record hours worked daily in accordance with expectations.
- Meet deadlines and follow instructions and expectations expressed by manager.
- Assisting in other departments as needed.
- Performs snow removal ice treatment and salting during winter season
Characteristics Needed to Succeed
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to be added onto companys auto insurance policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Achieves any department required certification within 90 days of placement i.e. backflow certification.
- Knowledge and experience with irrigation equipment and tools meeting operational safety and quality standards or the ability to quickly learn and follow expectations.
- Preferred knowledge of occupational safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and regulations.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed.

- Lift and carry weights ranging from 0 to 25 pounds with frequency
- Occasional lifting and carrying weights ranging from 26 to 60 pounds.
- Occasional bending kneeling crouching and stooping
- Frequent standing
- Occasional operation of equipment
- Occasional sitting climbing and reaching above shoulder height
- Frequent repetitive hand movements/grasping
- Good vision corrected to normal
- Good hearing corrected to normal; or ability to communicate/understand required information and to perform job duties
- Ability to be mobile throughout required work areas
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee will be expected to work outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat exposure due to natural climate. The noise level in each work environment will vary and could sporadically be loud.
