Job Description
The Service Technician will be responsible for the refurbishment of mechanical seals and associated activities in a highly professional seal repair environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Dismantle and clean of mechanical seals and parts under repair.
- Inspect of mechanical seals and seal cartridges.
- Prepare inspection report with full knowledge of failure modes.
- Prepare breakdown of parts required for the repair in accordance with the seal repair analysis procedures.
- Seal faces reconditioning by lapping and polishing.
- Assemble and repair mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications including locally manufactured metal parts repaired metal and nonmetal parts when needed.
- Test of mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane specifications.
- Manage local inventory of seal spares for both contractual and transactional repairs.
- Ensure quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself/herself and staff reporting to him/her
- Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization
- Ensure compliance with the applicable HSE instructions requirements laws and regulations received from customers regulatory and statutory bodies
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
Qualifications :
- Education/Training: Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant vocational technical qualification
- Experience: 8 years of professional experience in proactive multinational & multicultural environment
- Ability to understand component and assembly drawings.
- Reporting and full awareness of failure modes.
- Lapping and polishing using lapping machines.
- Knowledge of John Crane product portfolio.
- Computer literate in MS Office and outlook.
- Experience with service module in SAP.
- Languages: English Arabic
