DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Survivor Services Hub at the Los Angeles LGBT Center provides traumainformed clientcentered support to survivors of violence including domestic violence sexual stalking hate crimes/incidents and other forms of trauma. The department offers comprehensive culturally competent services that empower survivors to heal and rebuild their lives. Our dedicated team delivers case management counseling safety planning and access to emergency resources while collaborating with community partners to advocate for systemic change. We are committed to addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ survivors and fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Survivor Services Hub (SSH) and in partnership with clinical leadership the Mental Health Clinician III shall conduct LGBTQIA2S specific individual and group domestic violence sexual stalking hate violence human trafficking and crime victim prevention and intervention services document and evaluate their effectiveness and assist with development of activities associated with the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Client Services

Provide individual and group services for clients at risk for or experiencing violence harassment discrimination and other victimization documenting progress immediately after client encounters.

Conduct intakes and clinical assessments ensuring required documentation is complete and appropriately routed.

Provide family violence and crime victim crisis counseling during onduty hours including conducting crisis sessions communicating victimization information facilitating phone or virtual meetings and completing walkin intakes as needed.

Assist clients with emergency housing and provision of basic necessities in collaboration with the Survivor Services Hub (SSH) team.

Make and follow up on appropriate referrals to internal and external services ensuring continuity of care.

Coordinate care with internal departments such as Legal Health Youth Senior Services and Community Programs as necessary.

Case Management

Participate in the multidisciplinary Clinical Case Conference and present assigned cases for review.

Attend weekly SSH staff and clinical review meetings to support ongoing case management.

Engage in program planning evaluation dissemination activities and training with the SSH Management Team and supervisor.

Adhere to Utilization Management protocols to ensure timely and appropriate client services.

Complete all client documentation in a timely accurate and legible manner submitting records by the end of each business day.

Notify supervisor and administrative staff of appointment schedule changes promptly.

Assist in the production of program reports and complete required reporting tasks.

Other Duties

Attend continuing education workshops/seminars on family violence and crime victimization as instructed.

Provide training and education on victimization topics to agency staff interns and volunteers.

Participate in staff planning community and other relevant meetings.

Participate in the departments Quality Improvement process.

Ensure compliance with clinical and documentation standards maintaining highquality client care.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Management Responsibilities (Budgetary & Direct Supervisory)

Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed staff clinicians and interns upon completion of 12 CEUs in Clinical Supervision.

Help recruit and supervise clinical interns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQIA2S community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQIA2S people.

A passion for the Centers work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people.

Masters degree in behavioral science discipline.

Currently licensed as an LCSW or Marriage and Family Therapist.

Licensed in applicable field of practice for a minimum of two years.

Associate ACSW status and at least two years counseling experience in at least one of the following: residential care social services child welfare services general counseling victims of crime counseling chemical dependency treatment juvenile justice youth services etc. and training and experience working with LGBTQI2S family violence crime victimization and trauma.

Minimum four years paid post graduate counseling experience i.e. residential care social services child welfare services general counseling chemical dependency treatment juvenile justice youth services etc.

Minimum two years counseling experience in domestic violence.

Working knowledge of marginalized victim issues/dynamics crime victimization and trauma and their emotional psychological physical and social impact.

Minimum of 40 hours of training or certification in domestic violence dynamics assessment and intervention.

Ability to work as a team member dedicated to generating resources/services to gay lesbian bisexual transgender nonbinary gender expansive and intersex communities.

Demonstrated ability to work under direct supervision.

Experience working with LGBTQIA survivors and other marginalized communities.

Ability to provide traumainformed care to people experiencing a wide variety of emotional and behavioral problems.

Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment.

Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Proficiency with word processing database operations spreadsheets and other software systems.

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish fluency).

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Access to reliable transportation.
