About the Role
The position involves operating and maintaining workshop machinery fabricating highprecision parts and executing repairs on vital mechanical equipment. This role suits tradequalified professionals with proven experience in heavy industry settings who value safety quality and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Machining and Fabrication: Operate workshop equipment like lathes milling machines and grinders to manufacture and repair parts with precision.
- Assembly and Repairs: Assemble mechanical components and align them to meet detailed specifications.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings to fabricate and assemble components accurately.
- Quality Control: Inspect and test parts to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
- Safety Practices: Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations maintaining a tidy and safe workspace.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to troubleshoot mechanical issues and enhance workflows.
- Trade Certification: Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
- Relevant Experience: Handson experience in heavy industry as a fitter or machinist.
