The Boeing CompanyThe Safety Security & Airworthiness (SS&A) organization is seeking a Senior Manager Safety and Compliance Investigations (Level L) to join the Product Safety & Investigations team in Everett WA.
The Product Safety & Investigations (PS&I) team is chartered to ensure continuous proactive vigilance regarding safety in our airplane products and to provide worldwide investigative support. This position is responsible for leading the systemic root cause investigation of safety and compliance issues for BCA Engineering and will involve collaboration across all airplane programs and engineering functions as well as with the Federal Aviation Administration.
A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate with velocity and agility address a complex array of technical safety and compliance issues and build and leverage close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
This role will have a number of responsibilities to include but not limited to the following:
Manages employees and firstlevel managers performing technical activities in the areas of Product Safety & Investigations. This role will involve working across all Engineering Functions Airplane Programs (In and Out of Production) and the FAA.
Leads the team responsible for investigation of safety and compliance issues. Includes evaluating systemic root causes containing risk and defining actions to prevent recurrence.
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies goals and objectives.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.
Promotes talent acquisition and retention within the team by ensuring career development of direct reports promoting employee recognition and building a team culture that improves employee satisfaction.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve crossfunctional and crossprogram technical issues are also required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry.
8 years of experience in an engineering role.
2 years of experience in a formal leadership role leading teams in a crossfunctional environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with analyses and studies for safety reliability maintainability human systems integration and product assurance.
Familiarity working with regulators (e.g. FAA EASA) and with regulatoryprocedures and processes (including familiarity with certification plans and FAA issue papers).
Openminded and comfortable working in a partnership environment while being a champion for functional safety and regulatory priorities.
