Job Title: Bilingual LSSP/School Psychologist Intern

Position Overview: The School Psychologist Intern will provide diagnostic information on student learning and behavior. They will work collaboratively with instructional faculty families and campus and network administration to provide an appropriately ambitious education program for students in K12 with disabilities in the Wayside Network. They will work with special education instructors to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Knowledge Required:
- This position requires an understanding of child and adolescent development.
- This position requires a basic understanding of counseling theories and the counseling process.
- This position requires a basic understanding of consultation and/or the problem identification and problemsolving process with teachers.
- Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of media work with others as a team organize and maintain records manage time and resources effectively and efficiently and evaluate performance and participate in professional growth opportunities.
- The candidate needs reliable transportation for travel between campuses.
- Knowledge of the best practices for special education assessment and interventions
- Knowledgeable about required timelines of the special education process to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive individual assessments of scholars referred for special education evaluations including comprehensive assessment of emotional/behavioral factors and other conditions related to learning.
- Apply knowledge of ethnic linguistic cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the significance of student diversity for evaluation planning and instruction.
- Facilitate/participate in ARD meetings to interpret evaluation results.
- Work with special education instructors in ARD document preparation and review documentation to ensure all network state and federal requirements are met.
- Participate in the development of individual educational plans and/or behavior management plans including followup and reevaluation.
- Consult with teachers support professional personnel families and community agencies concerning prevention and/or intervention strategies relating to learning and behavioral problems.
- Provide counseling as a related service for eligible scholars receiving special education services.
- Maintain and file electronic reports records and other documents related to individual scholar ARDs & IEPs.
- Actively participate in special education leadership meetings and network special education meetings.
- Follow and meet specific time lines related to the special education assessment process.
- Share assessment results and consult with educational staff and families.
- Attend training events & consult with colleagues as needed to support the assessment process and administration of services.
- Work with RTI and Special Education personnel to support the integrity of services.
- Consult with teachers to collaboratively provide ideas for behavior management instructional strategies and to assist with early identification of students with disabilities.
- Consult with families to help them be involved and participate in the educational process and provide followthrough with interventions at home.
- Consult with school personnel families scholars and community agencies in and after crisis situations. Debrief and provide referrals for followup services.
- Manage electronic and paper student information
Physical Effort and Work Environment:
- Services are generally provided within a standard classroom and office environment.
- Light lifting of materials and other objects associated with a classroom environment is required (e.g. books teaching aids up to
- approximately 20 40 lbs..
- This position may involve rare exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Regular attendance is required for this position.

The faculty hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This candidate from time to time may work an extended schedule including weekends and evenings according to demands of the role and tasks.
