Responsibilities
- Accessibility & Compliance:
- Serve as the primary UX liaison with our accessibility vendor(s) triaging accessibility issues and ensuring they are properly documented and prioritized.
- Partner with development teams to guide remediation efforts and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 and ADA best practices.
- Conduct UX accessibility audits and support accessibility testing including screen reader compatibility keyboard navigation and color contrast improvements.
- Advocate for inclusive design principles throughout product development.
- UX & Software Design:
- Design new features and workflows to enhance usability across platforms.
- Create wireframes prototypes and user flows that align with user needs and business goals.
- Collaborate with engineers product managers and stakeholders to translate UX concepts into functional designs.
- Conduct user research and leverage data to inform design decisions.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving our design systems.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in UX design software design or a related field.
- Experience working with digital accessibility standards (WCAG ADA Section 508 and remediation strategies.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and screen readers (e.g. Axe JAWS NVDA).
- Strong experience with Figma Sketch or Adobe XD for prototyping and wireframing.
- Knowledge of HTML CSS and frontend development principles (not required to code but should understand technical feasibility).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working alongside developers product managers quality assurance etc.
- Experience in designing for government outdoor recreation or highly regulated industries is a plus.
