Status: 80 hours per two week pay period
Shift: 8:00 am 4:30 pm
Job Schedule: Fulltime
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Remote Position: No

Statement of Purpose
The Social Services Director holds a leadership position responsible for strategizing and directing social service programs within the organization. This role requires a strong blend of managerial skills indepth knowledge of social services practices and a compassionate approach to service delivery. The Social Services Director works closely with staff community partners and clients to develop programs that meet the diverse needs of the community they serve.

Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrates understanding that patients physicians visitors and other hospital staff are customers and consistently seeks to exceed customers expectations.
- Works collaboratively and supportively with administration medical staff and other personnel who interrelate with social services functions to make Social Services a truly productive part of total patient care services.
- Builds bridges/relationships within the community that will benefit the organizations customers and operation. Good working relationship maintained with outside agencies.
- Supports social workers and community liaisons in providing care to the diverse populations of the HRMC service area.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and maintain programs within the department.
- Formulates implements and maintains departmental policies and procedures that enable the expected outcomes of the above. These policies meet the necessary requirements of the State Department of Health and HCFA.
- Participates actively in development and management of departmental budget as well as departmental goals and objectives. Budget anticipates needs of department; realistic and attainable goals established.
- Participates actively in the evaluation of application for and management of grants and funding opportunities for the departmental programs.
- Baccalaureate degree in social services or other healthcare related field
- Experience in program development and
- Bilingual preferred
- Previous supervisory or management experience
Physical Aspects of the Job:
- Work is indoors in clean welllighted climatecontrolled environment with minimal hazards under normal conditions. Works in patients homes hazards subject to condition of patients homes.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes odors dust mists gases or poor ventilation).
- Work requires finger/hand dexterity and eye/hand coordination along with accurate keyboarding skills.
- Position involves sitting 5075 of the day standing typing filing stocking supplies occasional light lifting walking stooping squatting and bending. Lifts 1030 pounds most frequent lifts 1015 pounds.
- Involves travel to patients homes.
- Risk exposure to communicable disease.
