Job Summary:

Wheeled Product Engineering (WPE) takes pride in developing machine subsystems for Caterpillars Wheeled Mining products. With development teams and assembly facilities spread across the globe the organization presents an amazing opportunity to develop your career and expand your knowledge technically and culturally! As an Engineering Project Team Leader on the WPE Engine/Power Installation & Cooling (E/PIC) team you will be leading the team that is responsible for the design and development of engine & cooling installations for Large Wheel Loaders and Wheel Dozer Compactors (LWL/WDC). In this role you will manage a team of engineers in the US while providing guidance to engineering partner organizations in the US and India. You will interact and develop strategies with both leaders in WPE and in the Product teams to ensure that Caterpillar LWL/WDCs meet and exceed the future requirements of our customers. What You Will Do:

• Lead a team of engineers in the United States and India providing technical and developmental guidance in the design development and build of engine and cooling installations for Large Wheel Loaders/Wheel Dozer Compactors being assembled in three global facilities.
• Coach the team to develop their technical expertise.
• Work with management to coordinate resources from global engineering partners to ensure successful of projects.
• Coordinate the E/PIC quality improvement efforts for LWL/WDC. This includes guiding the team to develop interim and permanent improvements.
• Work with the WPE E/PIC Technical Expert and other team leads to develop best practice processes and tools to enable sustainable improvement and excellence in product development.
• Collaborate with Product and Factory teams to establish team and program priorities.

Education requirement:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering

What skills you will have:

Product Design and Development:

• Extensive knowledge in relevant complex system and component design/development.
• Proficient in ProE/Creo Design and Teamcenter.
• Proficient in Engine Installation &/or Cooling design familiar with machine design

Technical Excellence:

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to be a selfstarter with strong technical leadership skills.
• Knowledgeable in industry standards related to construction and mining machine design along with engine/cooling regulations.
• Caterpillar or Large Construction OEM design knowledge.

Project Management:

• Capability to manage a local and international team of engineers to design and develop technical systems.
• Good interpersonal teamwork and collaboration skills to work with product system and component teams.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets for engineering projects.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:

• Ability to troubleshoot root cause for complicated technical problems.
• Capable of identify multiple solutions and selecting the best option meeting customer requirements.

The location for this position is Decatur IL
