Senior Structural EngineerColumbia SC This role reports directly to the Board and is responsible for coordinating all activities of the Structural Department. This position requires daily coordination with the PIC and project team for each of the firms active projects. PE registration in SC (or ability to quickly acquire same). NCEES registration (or ability to secure same). Ability to obtain additional state professional registrations as required. oMin. 10 years experience as a registered PE in structural design with a variety of building materials: steel concrete precast concrete tiltup concrete masonry coldformed steel framing and familiarity with construction details & requirements for each. Experience with special foundations and deep foundations of various types. oDesignBuild experience or the desire to work in that environment required. oIndustrial/Distribution/Logistics building type experience or the desire to work on those types of projects required oConstruction experience desirable. oExperience with renovation upfit and expansion projects beneficial Knowledge and Skillset Requirements oSelfmotivated individual with strong organizational skills able to work well in a team environment with architects engineers and construction professionals. Must be detail oriented and highly motivated with the ability to budget direct and assign the work of the Structural Department Staff. oGood graphic written and verbal skills in the appropriate media. oStrong analytical skills to support program development and design decisions. oFull understanding of current building codes and regulations applicable to the projects including but not limited to: ICC ASCE ACI AISC AISI TMS FM Global. oExperience with defining and specifying design loads material selection development of project specifications construction drawings shop drawing review and resolving any issues and conflicts that arise during construction. oAble to visit existing client facilities and active construction sites and make observations of existing conditions current challenges encountered during construction or other issues that may require physically traversing the site and/or building to observe and measure pits roofs mezzanines or other structures not at the main level of the structure. oProficiency in AutoCAD Revit MS Office Suite. Experience with RAM Structural Systems ENERCALC or other suitable computer aided design software. oDemonstrated ability to independently produce medium and large project documentation. oAbility to assist with company sales and marketing efforts as required including but not necessarily limited to preparing preliminary project design estimating project design fees writing proposals and attending business development functions. oA get your hands dirty personality with the drive to provide quality work to assure a successful ontime onbudget project.
