Primary Responsibilities
St. Lawrence University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position in Public Health to begin August 15 2022. We are interested in a broadly trained public health scholar with a transdisciplinary approach to the practice of public health. Applicants whose interests include social determinants of health and communitybased or participatory research methods are particularly encouraged to apply. St. Lawrence Universitys Public Health program includes a minor and a major under development. The program curriculum is firmly rooted in the liberal arts and allow students to choose from more than 70 courses across 20 different academic departments/programs. In addition students are required to undertake an experiential learning component ELC where they are pushed to experience public health outside of the classroom. Our curriculum values diversity and inclusion community engagement and social justice while guiding students to understand the historical and social roots of health inequities. The successful candidate will teach Introduction to Public Health Epidemiology Public Health Research Methods and upperlevel courses in their area of expertise. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching active scholarship and a commitment to undergraduate education. Minimum Qualifications
A PhD in public health epidemiology community health or a related field or DrPH is required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree from a CEPH accredited school of public health is preferred.
