SUMMARY

As a Teachers Assistant you will assist with the organizing of activities for children 18 months 5 years of age under the supervision of the Day Care Director while providing a caring and safe environment for all guests. There is just as much fun to be had in the Sierra daycare center as there is out on the mountain!

Duties and Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

1. Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for children of all ages.
2. Understand the special needs of children in a daycare environment while focusing on their needs at all times.
3. Assist students at lunch and snack time and all other supervision times if instructing students.
4. Assist in operational responsibilities of the program including but not limited to registration equipment outdoor teaching areas cleanliness of facilities surface lifts and other facets of the programs as they exist.
5. Responsible for the overall safety of class participants.
6. To further promote and act as role model in the area of responsibility code safety and risk awareness as prescribed by resorts safety policies.
7. To be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Resort Handbook and the Best Practices of the Department.
8. Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
9. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
10. Flexible working hours.


RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
1. Protect the safety of self coworkers and SierraatTahoe Resort guests at all times.
2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
3. Report safetyrelated accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have 6 ECE units and enrolled in an additional 6 units which include courses that cover the general areas of Child Growth and Development or human growth and development: child family and community or child and family; and program/curriculum. Computer knowledge desired but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

Resort certification on any necessary equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
