WHAT IS AN INTERNSHIP
A oneyear rotating internship offers the opportunity to work within a stateoftheart referral practice developing your clinical skills and knowledge by working alongside worldrenowned specialists.
Following an induction period interns rotate through the various core and elective disciplines that can include:
WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE A LINNAEUS INTERNSHIP
Our rotating internship programmes are structured with a thorough induction ongoing support and a handbook to help you find your way when you start. You will learn an incredible amount from the cases you see as part of your clinical rotations and regular seminars within the practice.
We also bring our interns together for regular teaching sessions across the group. Theres a programme of professional skills and wellbeing training delivered by experts including Carolyne Crowe from VDS Training and specialists from within Linnaeus. Our diagnostic imaging specialists also deliver monthly intern imaging rounds and from the start of 2022 all interns will attend a yearlong research skills course.
Interns attend an annual training day with clinical seminars professional skills and wellbeing sessions and a career development workshop including sessions on writing CVs covering letters and interview techniques.
All rotating interns are also given RECOVER online basic and advanced life support training.
Our disciplinespecific interns are also given professional skills and clinical research training and have access to a number of journal and book clubs that run via online sessions across the group. We also run a session on How to get a Residency and give our interns the opportunity to have mock interviews.
MENTORING AND SUPPORT
All interns are mentored by a senior member of the clinical team within the practice who has received mentor training. Rotating interns have monthly meetings with their mentor based around the internship workbook that guides them in the creation of a personal development plan and reflection on their progress throughout the programme.
Interns are further supported by the Internship Director in their practice the Linnaeus Internship and Residency Manager and our Central Support Team who check in with the intern teams regularly during the programme and are available for advice and support.
