Job Description

Job Title: Social Worker (Children)
Location: Durham
Working Hours: Hybrid
Rate: 239.43 per day (Umbrella) and 181.02 (PAYE)

Liquid Personnel are currently recruiting experienced Qualified Social Workers to join a busy team at a Durhambased within the Child Protection team at the daily rate of 239.43 (Umbrella) and 181.02 (PAYE).

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities as a Child Protection Social Worker include conducting assessments and investigations related to child protection cases developing and implementing care plans for children and families and collaborating with other professionals including parents social workers and legal representatives. You will attend court hearings and provide evidence when necessary. Maintaining a childcentered approach ensuring the welfare and safety of every child and applying knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulations are crucial. Identifying risks and taking appropriate actions to protect children from harm is essential. You will assess family dynamics risk factors and protective factors write clear and concise reports including assessments case notes and court reports and participate in multiagency meetings to contribute to child protection plans. Collaboration with colleagues including other social workers health professionals and educators and liaising with external agencies such as police schools and health services are key aspects of the role. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families is also important. Staying uptodate with relevant legislation policies and best practices attending training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities and upholding professional standards while adhering to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration requirements are necessary. Essential skills and attributes include excellent communication and interpersonal skills the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and a strong knowledge of fostering regulations childcare law and safeguarding issues.

What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:

  • Qualified in a recognized social work degree (CQSW DipSW or equivalent).
  • Experience in social work with children and families
  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK license
  • Postqualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
