Job Description

Senior Land Services Officer Saving Native Species Program Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area

A great opportunity to join a high performing team and utilise your skills to support the delivery of key projects within Local Land Services.

  • Full time temporary opportunity up to 15 months until 30 June 2026
  • This role is based in Penrith
  • Salary up to $ 122058.00 per annum plus super

About the role

The role delivers services to land holders and the community to help them manage our landscapes to be healthy and productive including the project management of natural resource management activities; provision of natural resource management information; advice and extension services; delivery of emergency planning preparedness response and recovery services; development of major partnerships and collaboration; negotiation and resolution of complex natural resource management issues; provision of leadership and support to small project teams; monitoring evaluation reporting and improvement of programs and projects and contribute to strategic planning.

As the Senior Land Services Officer Saving Native Species Program Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area (GBMWHA) you will be responsible for project managing the Improving the condition of the Greater Blue Mountains priority places Saving Native Species funding in the Greater Sydney NRM region project.

You will have the opportunity to work with land holders and managers and stakeholders within the GBMWHA to plan and deliver on ground works and activities that contribute to outcomes that reduce threats to biodiversity and land protected in the GBMWHA. This project is funded through the Regional Delivery Partner program with the Australian Government.

About you:

  • Provide timely effective and highquality frontline advisory and extension services to rural landholders and stakeholders partners and industry groups
  • Manage complex natural resource management and agricultural productivity projects across multiple stakeholder groups to a high standard
  • Collect and collate data analyse information and provide accurate and appropriately balanced advice reports and recommendations
  • Write reports and plans to a high level
  • Have ability to balance diverse stakeholder interests while meeting tight deadlines sets you apart.
  • Natural leader with proven experience in managing complex programs and facilitate implementation of the Local Land Services Act 2013 Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 or other legislative responsibilities
  • Your ability to balance diverse stakeholder interests while meeting tight deadlines sets you apart.
  • You thrive in dynamic environments can tackle complex negotiations and are committed to delivering highquality outcomes. In addition to your leadership and strategic planning skills you have a passion for mentoring and developing your team to achieve their full potential.

Essential requirements

  • A degree in agricultural environmental natural resource management biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance
