About You and this Role

Shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system with a primary focus on environmental in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides handson environmental activities for a specific plant (thermal treatment). Requires advanced skills and expertise in and maintenance of environmental programs. Will be working with manufacturing plants across multiple US sites to ensure compliance in Dows Thermal Treatment technologies. Will act as a working team lead providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others. This position is aligned to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Implements detailed task level day to day Environmental programs utilizing the EH&S work process standards and procedures.
  • Ensures that the Environmental IH and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline.
  • Acts as the plant resource for related Environmental information on procedures guidelines and standards.
  • Serves as plant contact for Environmental issues.
  • Coaches teams and individuals on Environmental related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals.
  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
  • Performs/coordinates certain Environmental data collection analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
  • Daily participation in plant meetings and intervention to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinates with Dow and Tenant waste generators to guide them through the waste management process.
  • Focal point for DOT as it pertains to waste transport
  • Focal point for coordination of BACODA (Bay Area Council on & Alcohol)

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • The ability to work a full shift come to work on time work overtime weekends and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills

  • Four or more years of EH&S and manufacturing or operations related experience as well as a candidate with defined examples of ownership and engagement in facility EH&S
  • An associates degree or higher in relevant field OR 3 years military experience

  • Environmental Training: Proficiency in implementing and managing EH&S programs ensuring compliance with standards and procedures and acting as a resource for EH&S information.
  • Analytical Thinking: Full proficiency in technical operational or analytical/scientific processes and procedures gained through jobrelated training and considerable onthejob experience.
  • Communication: Ability to coach teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities and serve as a plant contact for Environmental and waste management work process issues
  • Proactive ProblemSolving: The ability to identify issues related to EH&S analyze potential solutions and make informed decisions to ensure the safety and compliance of the plant operations.
  • Prioritization: The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure that critical EH&S activities are completed efficiently and within required deadlines. This includes balancing multiple responsibilities and adapting to changing priorities to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
