We are REAL RESILIENT and RESPONSIVE Were Highlanders. In order to best serve Radford University the College of Visual and Performing Arts has an opening for a Museum Registrar. The Art Museum Registrar assists the Museum Director in managing overall daytoday operations. The Museum Registrar oversees the storage protection cleaning reporting and lending of the art collection consisting of more than 2500 works. The Museum Registrar is responsible for planning preparing and coordinating receptions at special museum events. The position also requires hiring training scheduling and supervision of approximately 14 student workers in the museum along with a graduate assistant. The Museum Registrar coordinates the receipt of deliveries and handles the shipping of art. When art is loaned to other offices on campus the Museum Registrar must evaluate the space make suggestions of art works handle the paperwork delivery and mounting of the work. Inventory of supplies for the museum and office are handled by the Museum Registrar. The Museum Registrar may also assist with publicity of museum exhibitions and events. This is a 12month position.

Required Qualifications
Ability to run publicity for a organizations social media account. Accurate keyboarding skills for data entry. Excellent organizational interpersonal written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of event planning with preference within an Art Museum or similar venue. Knowledge of art museum operations and ability to work with a diverse clientele including faculty staff students and the general public. Ability to assist with designing art displays and executing display scenarios according to plans. Working knowledge of training and supervision of student workers and/or volunteers desirable. Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures maintain documentation and records. Knowledge of inventory management software with a preference for Filemaker Pro and Excel.
