Within the Composite Maintenance Repair and Overhaul unit at GA Telesis we are seeking an experienced AircraftSheet Metal Technicianto join our team at our composite repair facility in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. This is a fulltime position that will focus on aircraft composite repairs. Reporting to the Director of Production MRO the ideal candidate will use their full knowledge and experience to complete all tasks in quality standards of the Company FAA and our customers approved maintenance manual.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning disassembly and repair of flight controls structures stabilizers nacelles exhaust and other aircraft parts
- Repair modify replace or overhaul aircraft parts to ensure airworthiness
- Perform work within estimated or budgeted hours
- Know the proper use of heat control units
- Know various types of aircraft sealant and appropriate method application for sealant as well as aircraft fasteners and basic methods of installation and suitable substitutions
- Fabricate parts as required and have knowledge of metal and alloys and where substitutes may be used
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in aviation component repairs
- High school diploma required technical or trade school certifications preferred.
- Basic computer skills required such as Microsoft Suite
- Must be able to read write and understand English
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds
