Job Description
Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse
Join our dynamic Cardiovascular Institute as a Registered Nurse in our 20bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. Were seeking a compassionate skilled healthcare professional to deliver exceptional patient care in our specialized cardiac unit. Youll be part of a collaborative team managing diverse cardiac conditions while advancing your critical care nursing career.
Position Overview
As a Cardiac PCU RN youll provide specialized care for cardiac and medicalcardiology patients including both observation and inpatient cases. Youll work with stateoftheart technology and gain extensive experience in managing complex cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for cardiac patients
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions including AMI Hypertensive Crisis Unstable Angina Arrhythmias and CHF
- Care for postprocedural patients (Cardiac Catheterization Pacemaker insertions LAAO procedures)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize EPIC EMR system for accurate documentation and medication administration
- Provide patient/family education and support throughout the care journey
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- BLS certification (ACLS certification required within first year)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EPIC)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
