  • Assists in coordinating and managing the daily activities of the discipline specific staff and students to ensure quality delivery of patient care services.
  • Participates in direct and consultative patient care.
  • Assists with inventory control and identifies the need for purchasing supplies and equipment to ensure the availability of commonly used materials.
  • Identifies department specific needs/equipment for inclusion in budget(s).
  • Provides input to departmental short and long term goals and objectives.
  • Reviews and revises patient care and treatment procedures and policies on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicates policies procedures and related forms in accordance with state federal and organizational guidelines.
  • Assists with staff management and employee performance. Interviews applicants and makes recommendations for hiring staff.
  • Provides ongoing performance feedback addresses problems orients and trains employees verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
  • Participates in performance evaluations.
  • Assists with monitoring and evaluating quality improvement and productivity activities to meet the regulatory and legal standards governing rehabilitation services.
  • Monitors and redirects activities as necessary to maintain acceptable levels of productivity.
  • Resolves complaints and other issues affecting operations.
  • Participates in program design committees to ensure that the service commitments are in keeping with resource capability state of the art clinical practices and fiscal efficiency.
  • Performs routine and specialized procedures relating to therapy techniques.
  • Maintains a high level of proficiency in the technical skills required for managing patient care.
  • Communicates regularly with members of the patient care team the patient family members and others involved with the patients care.
  • Responds to and/or appropriately directs consumer problems.
  • Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.
  • Attends educational inservices as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends practices and developments.
  • Assists in the maintenance of discipline specific records pertaining to continuing education personnel charting financial operations and quality improvement.
  • Assists with the development of and maintenance of formal training and orientation programs for staff to maintain discipline specific competencies.
  • Serves as a resource to medical staff students other allied health professionals and support staff concerning the operations of the specific discipline.
  • Assists in interpreting the applicable policies.
  • Assists with the coordination of student activities.
  • Participates in research activities being conducted within the organization.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A masters degree in speechlanguage pathology.
  • Current licensure in SpeechLanguage Pathology in the state of Georgia.
  • Three years of clinical experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
