Position: Mortuary Technician
Placement Duration: 3 Months
Working Hours: Monday Friday 08:0016:30
Rate: 20 28 per hour
Location: Norwich
Job Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated Mortuary Technician to join our team. The role involves providing safe and practical assistance to Histopathologists in the postmortem room ensuring the Mortuary is maintained in a clean and efficient manner and adhering to all legal and health regulations pertaining to deceased individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Histopathologists in postmortem examinations including evisceration dissection and organ weighing.
- Maintain Mortuary hygiene standards and implement disinfection protocols.
- Handle and document postmortem specimens with precision and care.
- Liaise with external agencies such as funeral directors to ensure smooth collection procedures.
- Provide support during forensic postmortems and perinatal examinations.
- Train and supervise subordinate personnel in Mortuary procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with bereaved families.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols in handling deceased individuals.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Emotional resilience and maturity to handle sensitive situations.
- Must be a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician with the Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology.
