- Contract until June 2025 (potential to extend)
- $900 per day inc super
- NSW Government Client
- Recruiting ASAP for a Jan 2025 start
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor identify and assess cybersecurity risks threats and incidents including breaches and potential intrusions while alerting relevant agencies to take appropriate action.
- Analyse the tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs) of cyber threats targeting the government to determine their origins motives and capabilities.
- Develop timely and actionable intelligence reports on emerging cyber trends threats and issues impacting NSW assets.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as well as vendors to monitor detect report and share information on cyber vulnerabilities incidents and trends.
- Investigate and evaluate security breaches within your area of responsibility to ensure compliance with WholeofGovernment (WoG) cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Provide expert technical insights and knowledge to produce reports on current and emerging cybersecurity risks and trends.
- Offer recommendations to enhance cybersecurity practices across NSW Government agencies.
- Understand stakeholder needs manage team portfolios prioritise tasks and meet established goals and deadlines effectively.
Skills required
- Understanding of the NSW government cyber security standards essential)
- NSW government experience essential)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles frameworks (e.g. Essential 8 NIST ISO 27001 and tools.
- Experience with intrusion detection systems (IDS) firewalls antivirus and other security tools.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS VPNs) and operating systems (Windows Linux).
- Analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
