Job Description

Hiring a part time receptionist/registration clerk in the Outpatient/Specialty Clinic. This position is approximately 24 hours per week. Scheduled hours will generally be 7am to 3:30pm but may fluctuate based upon clinic schedules. Hours worked will generally be on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays; however will include some Mondays. An applicant who is able to work a flexible schedule is desired. No weekends/holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Completes all insurance prior authorizations and for specialists that have PSA
Answers the phone and transfers calls as needed
Performs all required registration duties for each specialty clinic including overseeing form completion by patients and obtaining demographic and insurance information as needed
Communicates with providers home office as needed
Maintains schedule of providers and distributes to departments as needed maintains hallway bulletin board with specialist dates
Maintains statistics for each specialty clinic
May assist providers with logging into the EMR and signing orders/documentation
Cross trained into the Specialty Clinic Scheduler position for back up
Floats to Revenue Cycle to complete registration as needed

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience: Must have good computer and communication skills. Must be friendly and service orientated. Previous registration or prior authorization experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word necessary; must be proficient in general office equipment.

Applicant must pass a background check employer provided health assessment (including applicable vaccines) and provided drug screen before hiring. Position open until filled.
