Job Description

Role: Band 6/7 Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6
Location: Southport
Salary: 29 to 34 p/h
Shift pattern: Full time/Part time
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months

The AHP team at Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 6/7 Adult acute Speech & Language Therapist to join our dynamic team in Southport. Our centre is dedicated to supporting individuals with challenging and complex needs helping them progress through a specialized neurobehavioural rehabilitation programme.

Your main responsibilities as an Adult acute Speech and Language Therapist:

You will facilitate therapeutic group sessions to help individuals improve their speech and communication skills. You will build rapport with service users encouraging their engagement and empowering their recovery. You will utilize your specialist skills to manage complex cases considering cultural and linguistic differences and develop appropriate strategies for caseload management. You will conduct audits and contribute to research to enhance treatment provision. You will apply your specialist knowledge in neurobehavioural brain injury and specialist care.

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:

    • HCPC Registration:Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
    • Confident and competent to autonomously assess diagnose and manage dysphagia in the adult acute inpatient population
    • Robust prioritization skills
    • must be dysphagia trained signed off competencies and able to see patients independently.
    • Knowledge and experience working with people with dysphagia whose aetiologias and diagnoses may include neurological disorders acute medical diagnoses chronic respiratory disorders those living with frailty and living with dementia
