Job Description
Join Zoox and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of autonomous vehicles! Were seeking a talented individual to lead the brake controls development with our tierone partners. As a member of the chassis actuator engineering team at Zoox youll work to meet engineering milestones and collaborate with tierone suppliers to validate and release control firmware for our brake system. Responsibilities include managing system specifications conducting failure mode and effects analysis creating and executing validation plans overseeing firmware release schedules managing supplier relationships and maintaining detailed project development timelines. Close collaboration with crossfunctional groups across Zoox is essential for success in this role. In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain thorough systemlevel technical specifications for the Zoox brake system through collaboration with suppliers and internal vehicle teams.
- Contribute to the development of diagnostic scripts and tools
- Collaborate with suppliers to adapt test plans balancing risks from firmware changes and regression to meet project goals.
- Lead supplier firmware defects resolution & impact assessments by leveraging Zoox architecture & system design teams
- Engage with experts in AI Mechatronics Computer Vision and Robotics across Zoox teams to leverage collective expertise and drive innovation.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience within the automotive or similar industry
- Track record debugging ambiguous multifaceted problems involving hardware software and firmware.
- Experience with automotive actuator controls & validation methods
- Experience with the implementation of various test methodologies and creating and operating HIL test assets
- Knowledge of automotive program development release processes and longterm schedule planning
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience at automotive OEM or Tier 1 brake controls developer
- Experience with CANalyzer Polarion Jira and Confluence
- Simulink software proficiency and hydraulic system modeling
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $137000 to $223000. A signon bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
