Job Description:
The Physical Security Shift Lead is responsible for executing the Physical Security operations per policies and procedures and overseeing the activities of the subcontractors on their shift to ensure operational excellence and promote a secure environment. This position primarily works in the Physical Security Command Center.
This includes the following essential job functions:
- Operation of organizational security and facilities systems
- Monitoring and interpreting information from available systems to coordinate appropriate responses and forecast needs
- Basic troubleshooting and repair of systems in use
- Recognizing and responding to emergency situations coordinating apprporiate responses and making critical notifications in an expediant manner
- Interacting with individuals and groups to ensure compliance with organizational procedures and practices
- Communicating and coordinating with response personnel to remedy identified issues
- Preparing and submitting a variety of reports
- Directing coaching and instructing others in the of security and organizational procedures
- Tactful and discretionary communication with others
- Initiating action when the recognition of problems/ potential problems occur
- Directing and monitoring the activities of Security contractors to ensure security objectives are being pursued and contractual guidance is being adhered to
- Investigate abnormalities and security incidents taking action and providing documented reports
- Maintaining databases files logs and similar items ensuring accuracy and accountability
- Receiving and coordinating security services while on duty
- Performing systematic checks and audits to ensure the protection of classified information
- Performing compliance functions to ensure the alignment of security operations to regulatory and customer requirements and standards
Essential Functions:
- Operating a computer and other office equipment including a phone copier and printer throughout each day.
- Operating specialized security and building management systems including access control alarm radio digital video intrusion detection fire system monitoring and similar systems.
- Working in 24x12 office shared with one other worker routinely and occasionally more workers.
- Moving around the office and outside (year round) throughout the day including walking bending reaching above shoulder level and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently corresponding with others regarding security and organizational policies and practices. Must be able to communicate accurate information.
- Knowledge of Security and ability to learn and perform security processes.
- Ability to routinely handle emergency or timesensitive highstress situations.
- Ability to work in shifts routinely up to 12 hours per day and overtime as required by operational needs

Qualifications:
- SECRET (final) Clearance
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
